The Challenge
To write a one-page sales letter for Textbooks.com Buy-Back Programme. The letter was to be inserted inside the cover of purchased textbooks. (The company is real, but the project was designed purely for practice purposes).
The primary aim of the piece was to encourage readers to visit the buy-back page on Textbooks.com. There, they would learn how to sell back any textbooks they no longer needed.
The Thought Process
Since students made up the target audience of this project, I wanted to keep the letter as easygoing as possible, while still communicating the core message. References to education, as well as to the lighter side of student life, kept the copy relevant to the reader’s experiences.
